    Description

    Vintage Late 1960's Mother Daughter  ERNA MEYER Stockinette Dollhouse Doll GERMANY. Flexible Dollhouse scale Mother Doll and Baby doll. The mother doll has a small hole in the front. The both dolls have some age, and wear, but otherwise they are in good shape. The mommy doll has the wires showing on both hands. The mommy doll also has a wire sticking out on her left bottom foot. Both have a few stains I believe due to age so it may be discoloration. The baby doll in the front and the mommy doll on her back. They are old but still beautiful in their own way.
    Very nice condition for their antique age.

    A bit of history:
    Eighteen year old Erna Meyer began making these precious stockinette dolls with painted facial features and mohair wigs in the late 1940's. She designed them to be soft to the touch but bendable and poseable for dollhouse play. Like many of the wonderful German toys, Erna Meyer's handmade  dolls are constructed for generations of play. Erna's daughter in later years still carries on the tradition of the handmade dolls in the famous cottage industries of Germany.
