Offered for your consideration is an outstanding matched pair of vintage
Jensen
Alnico magnet 3½ inch cone tweeters
, USA-made in 1967.  As you probably know, Chicago’s Jensen was a prolific speaker company from the 1930’s through the mid 1980’s, and was a leading OEM supplier to the domestic speaker industry in addition to carrying their own models.  Per the EIA-format date code on the side of the magnet covers, “704”, these tweeters were made by Jensen in the 4th week of 1967.  They are identical to their model P35-VAH tweeters, but, being they were supplied to KN Knight, are not marked as such.
So, please take a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these classic Jensen high frequency drivers should be yours.
These Jensen tweeters are in clean, excellent condition.  The thin paper cones are flawless, aside from a bit of typical waviness, and the voice coil dustcaps are perfect as well.  Plus, the galvanized steel baskets are in great shape with no dings or noteworthy oxidation noted.  And, the +/- terminals measure the industry-standard .205”, are marked for polarity, and I’ve left a few inches of input wire soldered to the terminals for the new owner’s convenience in splicing-in to their intended application.  For being well over 50 years old, these are some exceptionally well-preserved tweeters.
Most importantly, they’ve been fully tested and sound terrific—clear and strong with the warm vintage tone that makes Alnico magnet speakers so desirable today. Plus, their DC resistance tested at 4.8 and 5.3Ω, respectively, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating.  Lastly, the baskets’ flanges measure 3½” square, they stand roughly 2⅛” high, and the mounting pattern is the standard EIA-spec for U.S.-made 3½” drivers—2¾” adjacent / 4” diagonal, c-t-c.
These are a nice find for someone that needs 3½” cone tweeters as replacements for their 1950’s-70’s Jensen, Knight/KN, Heath, Magnavox, or
many
other U.S.-made vintage speakers.  Plus, they’re very ready for action in a speaker project for tube amp or low-powered solid state receiver use!
