This beautiful linen tea set is from my mother-in-law's estate. She was a WAC during WWII and stationed in Occupied Japan. That is where she met her husband, an Army officer. After the war ended, they remained in Japan for a few years and were also stationed in Germany and other parts of Europe until the late 1950's. As an officer's wife, she did a lot of entertaining. This set was likely purchased at the US Military Base PX store in Occupied Japan in the late 1940's.
Tablecloth still has the tag attached. It says this is a 7 piece set, unfortunately three of the napkins are missing. appears to have never been used. Linen still has a glossy sheen and is like-new crisp and clean. There is some minor soiling along fold lines from decades of storage.
