Vintage 1978 USMC Steel 5 Gallon Jerry Can, Flexible Spout, Screen, Cap Patina!!

For Sale is a Vintage 1978 USMC Steel 20L / 5 Gallon Jerry Can in awesome condition..
The very small amount of rust on this can appears to be entirely surface in nature. This can is solid beyond description.
It has an incredible Flexible Metal Spout, with Screen and Screw Cap that is as new, but with a 43 Year Patina that can't be replicated.
DOT =  I assume stands for U. S. Department of Transportation, I'm not sure what the 5L stands for yet... but not Liters certainly...
USMC isn't what I initially thought, but actually stands for U.S. Metal Container Company, a company now known as Blitz.
The code on the can bottom ( 20-5-78 )  Indicates 20 Liters - 5 Gallons - 1978 year of production
This can was found in a shop in Forest Grove, Oregon.
I have found no markings to have indicated use in U.S. Military Service, but it is one fine gas storage and distribution system.
