Vintage 1890s Hickory Shaft J & A Dickson George Nicoll Diamondback Mid Iron

Unique hickory shafted J & A Dickson diamondback mid iron. From antiquegolfscotland.com:
"Brothers John and Alexander Dickson set up as clubmakers in Braid Road, Edinburgh in 1889 and later had a city-centre shop in Rose Street.
In 1899 they took over the business of
J & D Clark
in Dunbar and became clubmakers to the Dunbar club (employing
Tommy Currie
as foreman). The club, however, cancelled their contract and awarded the business to
Robert Auld
."
The club is stamped Braid Road, Edinburgh and combined with the smooth face style, this club is likely from the late 1890's. The club is not stamped mid iron which is also typical of this period, but the shaft length (38.5") verifies this. Club also has a hand cleek mark that indicates the George Nicoll was likely the original manufacturer.
