Chuck Tanis Signature VFQ MacGregor Irons 2,4-9 ProPel #1 Custom. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Chuck Tanis was a legend in the Chicago area as one of the most prominent and respected PGA golf pros. He was the long-time professional at Olympia Fields CC and a club designer for the MacGregor Golf Company as is evidenced by this offering. I believe this set is from 1962 and it is in great shape for it's age. Sets of this era many times did not come with a PW and this set does not have one. It is also missing the 3-iron. All the serial numbers match. The heads show very little of the wear and bag marks of a club of this vintage. The shafts are good and the shaft bands are intact. Please see the photos. The ferules are beautiful. The grips are in terrific condition and look great. I conditioned them and they are tacky. Please note that the end cap of the 6-iron has 2 chips. This is a highly sought after rare collectable of a piece of Mid-west golf history. It would be a wonderful players club as this is the best looking MacGregor iron I have seen from this era.
