Description
RARE! Cardinal Model 287 Super Wide 7x35 w/Case+. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.In excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, the previous owner rubbed off some of the coating on both oculars. We further polished the ruined ares with cerium oxide and views are crystal clear. Compared side by side to a pristine Sears model 6287-A, this Cardinal's exact duplicate in every way, one can barely notice any difference. Hard to out into words exactly, but because of the slightly more amber views from the Sears, there is a slight difference. That said, unless we pointed out the damage that was hard to see, at first, and unless you had another model with which to compare it to, one wouldn't think there was ANYTHING wrong with this set! See pics taken through both sides.
Comes with case and most accessories. The screw on wrist strap is still in its astic wrap! The small camel hair brush is missing, but maybe your girlfriend or wife can "loan," you a suitably sized one. Our own Sears is also missing said brush and we rarely use the wrist strap. Has two yellow filter ocular caps and two objective caps as well as original cleaning cloth and booklet.
We shortened the carry strap on the Bino and replaced the two cracked plastic barbell keepers with better ones. I'd personally a strip of tape over each just in case, as ya don't want this beauty falling for any reason.
If you can locate replacement lenses (+ each?), the labor to have them out in would probably be -0. So down the line, if you just gotta have a pristine example, a further investment of between 0-0 would bring this one up to snuff. Until then, enjoy the extremely wide, 12.5 degree wonderful views this Cardinal puts up.
