Maria Victoria Heredia Guerbos Medium Doll's Doll - Artisan Dollhouse Miniature

Description

This is a wonderful replica of an antique doll's doll by artist Maria Victoria Heredia Guerbos of Spain.
Maria does not use molds, so this doll is sculpted entirely by hand. And the doll's eyes are actually glass! (Which explains why they catch the light so strikingly in certain photos).
This adorable little girl in an off-white dress is one of Maria's medium-sized doll's dolls. (Please see dimensions).
She is dressed in a beautiful off-white self-striped dress with amazing tiny embroidered blue flowers around the hem, just above the lace trim. The dress has lots of pleats and pretty blue satin bows on the sides and at the back. It also has a lovely large collar, complete with more embroidered flowers and white lace trim.
She wears a sweet straw boater, bedecked with blue bows and two tiny pink roses.
Her lovely brown hair lies in sausage curls over her shoulders and down her back.
Her face is painted charmingly.
Her white socks and mauve shoes are painted on.
Her head is stationary, but her arms are jointed at the shoulders, and her legs are jointed at the hips. She can move her arms a little, and her legs can also move fairly freely. Given her skirt, she cannot be made to sit, however.
She comes in a nice box (also by Sra Guerbos) with matching, removable lid, made of hard-paper covered in a greenish-grey paper on the outside and pastel green paper on the inside. The inside of the lid features
a lovely period-appropriate decoration. There are also period appropriate text on the end of the box and the sides of the lid.
I bought this doll from a dealer who bought her for me from Victoria, so I know she is brand new.
This doll is designed and packaged as a doll's doll (so, a toy for your 1:12 scale dollhouse girl). However, she could also be a wonderful half-scale (1:24) dollhouse child herself.
