Early Antique Vintage Jack White Splice Neck Driver

This listing is for an antique vintage hickory wood shafted 41" wood. It is an early splice or scare neck marked J White on the crown. Jack White was an Open Champion and a very well respected club maker. I believe this driver was made before he won The Open. The head is in nice used condition. 8* loft and a C 4 swingweight.
Please look at the zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old original hickory.

he shaft is straight and I see no cracks. Feels like a regular flex. Grip is an old built up rough side out long leather wrap that is in poor vintage condition. Great collectible with the name of an Open Champion on it.
If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts or heads against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball.
