Description
19th Century Brunswick table base. Slate is excellent and hasDetroit markings. Table was said to be once in the Masonic Temple
in Detroit, by the Q Master Company we purchased it from circa 1962.
Q Master no longer in business, and claim never verified as to provenance.
Billiard Rails are Schulenburg of Detroit, which we stored from 1962
to 1998. They were also table manufacturers.
The set of pocket rails were found by QMaster, as I wanted pocket pool
as a 12 year old- which necessitated cutting slate in 6 spots. Any evidence
of under rail "cuts" when installing Billiard rails hidden by small wood "half
moon dowels" set in place with spackling type compound. Not a difficult
transformation to do yourself.
I returned the table to Billiard- and had the table rails all reset with new speed
cloth about 10 years ago- mostly because of the matching hardwood
original rails, and the added challenge of the 3 bumper game.
What I should have done was to replace the Brunswick "speed" cushions
for both sets- as they are NOT as lively as they should be- particularly for
3 cushion billiard play.
Solid Que sticks, (including a Willie Hoppe) and 2 of my own 2 piece Ques included
with leather- 2 cue travel case. Also- two sets of billiard balls, one set antique
the other modern.
