ANTIQUE WOOD SHAFTED LONG NOSE PUTTER, J.T.HUTCHISON CLUBMAKER

Description

Up for auction is an antique long nose putter made by James Hay Hutchison a renowned
clubmaker in the late 1880s and 1990s. Born in 1847 in Edinburgh.  Later his family moved to Musselburgh.
His sister married Peter McEwan of the famous Musselburgh clubmaking dynasty.
The club is in excellent condition with no cracks in the head or shaft.  The head, shaft and whippings appear
to be original.  The grip is not original, but is a very good copy of a grip of that time period.  The bone on the
sole is in good condition and the pegs are tight.
Club length 36 1/2", head length 4 1/2", width 2", face height 1".
