This listing is for an antique vintage wood shafted 37 3/4" iron. It is a Crest Mid Mashie made by Wilson. Made of stainless steel. The head is clean and not all rusted. Yes it does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old original hickory. It has a minor bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be reset prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in good vintage condition. Great for display or as a gift for your favorite golfer. 28* Loft and a C 5 swingweight for play.
If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that
whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These old hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any
time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
