Plus Success on the back. The Plus Success series was Wilson's top of the line offering. Interesting mussel back with weight concentrated behind the sweetspot.
The head is clean and in good vintage condition.
Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. It is straight, I see no cracks and it is tight at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in good
vintage
condition. 36* loft and a nice D 6 swingweight for play.
If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.
