Antique Vintage Hickory Shaft W Fernie Open Champion Splice Neck Driver

This item is a 43 3/4"
right-handed
original hickory shafted wood. It is an early splice neck driver with horn leading edge. Marked W Fernie on the crown. Fernie was quite the Scottish golfer having won the 1883 Open title and finishing second four times. Good
vintage
condition. Shows the expected play use but I see no cracks or big junks missing. There is some damage toi the horn or bone leading edge in the toe area.

I see no cracks and it is tight at the scare. Feels like a whippy flex like so many of the early splice neck drivers. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in poor vintage condition. 8* loft and a D 7 swingweight. Play it or display it.

box. This item shipped UPS Ground. For those of you that never ship but only receive items, the further you are from me in NC the more shipping will be. That is the way the carriers charge. On top of that, eBay and takes almost 15% of what I receive for shipping (out of I receive .50) and I would like to break even. eBay collects sales tax for many states. They charge me 15% for that service and I never see that money.
