Antique Vintage Hickory Shaft Spalding Bobby Jones 2 Iron

This listing is for a hard to antique vintage right-handed 39 1/4" 2 iron from the early 1930's. Flanged sole lined face with the sweetspot in the middle. Made by Spalding and has the Robert T. Jones, Jr. (Bobby Jones) signature on the back. This is a famous sole weighted Spalding Robert T. Jones, Jr iron that revolutionized golf iron design. The biggest seller of their day but offered with hickory shafts only in the January 1933 Spring and Summer Spalding golf catalog. 25* Loft and a D 4 swingweight. Head is clean and in good condition. They did not have good chrome back then and the head shows chrome loss and salt and pepper pitting to the chrome. Please look at the multiple zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. Shaft is an old Hickory. It is straight, I see no cracks and it has a little play at the hosel (always re-set hickory shafts prior to play). The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in good vintage condition. Hard to find club with the Jones name on it. and they do make some of the best players out there.
