Antique Smooth Face Golf Club, Thomas Carruthers design Bore thru Short Hosel

Description

This is a Smooth faced, Antique,  Hickory shafted Golf Club.  It has a Thomas Carruthers designed Bore through short hosel.  As most do, this club  could use a clean. The hickory shaft appears to be in decent shape and the grip wrap looks very well preserved. The short hosel shows deep and  irregular nicking or pinch marks which is indicative of very early clubheads. Overall length of club is 39 inches.     There is what I believe to be a previous owner's label right at the end of the grip. The center of the sticker is worn away, however,  from what I can make out, the name reads

My thinking is that a "Professional Golfer" would use only top of the line professional clubs!
