Antique Scarce Army & Navy Spliced neck transitional wood shaft golf club 1890s

Hi,You're looking at a seldom seen Army & Navy (ANCL) spliced neck wood shaft golf club. This Transitional club was made after the long nose era but still resemble the long nose head with it's length of 4 1/2 inches long but with a very much stout ( thicker) neck so that it can take the impact of the rubber gutty balls that were mostly used late 1890s. This Driver Model is in good condition for it's age and likely made late 1890s. The head shows some light play wear and minor but varnish wear at the toe. There's NO crack on the head neck or shaft. The ram's horn has a small piece missing towards the toe ( see pic ). The splice joint fits flush and the old whippings has some separation. The wordings stampings on the head are lite and unclear but you can make out the stamping as Army & Navy CSL London.
The original stamped shaft is in good condition and has a small likely intentional bend. it has a small treated worm hole in the middle and some wear/missing wood at the butt. The length is 41" . The likely original suede leather grip has some worn areas. A scarce club that will display well in any serious golf collection.
