Antique hickory golf club; JH Taylor cleek autograph model; 5 time Open Champion

Description

This is a dash and dot face cleek by Cann & Taylor.  Five time Open Champion John Henry Taylor partnered with George Cann to make and market Taylor's club innovations for over four decades.  They obtained a trademark on Taylor's signature and stamped his name along with the registered trademark number on many of their club heads.
The CANN & TAYLOR name is in block letters.  The J H TAYLOR name is in script.  AUTOGRAPH REG and the registration number are in block letters.  Near the top of the blade CLEEK is in block letters.  ALL STAMPS ARE VERY BOLD.
This club has a solid and straight unmarked replacement shaft.
The head has been reset.  Whipping has been added to the shaft just above the hosel for strength.  The grip is a leather wrap, rough side out.
There are very few signs of play.  It is 37 1/2" long to the heel.  It is a bit light to be a player.  The bold markings on this club that was made by an Open Champion will make this one a great display piece.
