    Description

    Antique Collectible Robert Forgan and Son Golf Iron - St Andrews - 37" - 1890 - Much of the back of the club has been worn, but the makers mark shows.  In 1863, Robert made a set of clubs for The Prince of Wales when he was named Captain of the R & A.   As a result Forgan was given a royal warrant to display the Prince's crest of 3 Ostrich Plumes on his golf clubs, which appear on this club. Later in 1901 when The Prince became the King of England Forgan's makers mark changed to a Crown.  The type of club is not easy to name and I would rather not guess.  Please check the photos and ask any questions.  Thank You
