Description
1992 Russia National Team Game Worn Tackla Jersey - Izvestia Cup Cupolas StyleVintage and very rare "onion dome" or "cupolas" red mesh Tackla jersey, the style used in 1992 at the Izvestia Cup and other tournaments attended by the National Team. Includes sublimated sponsor patches from Apollo and NMT GSM along with an added Smirnoff patch sewn-on at the chest. Proper double yellow Tackla tagging sewn inside the lower side seam. Number "8" on back and sleeves with no blantent indications the jersey at one time had a name bar. As a matter of fact, the jersey shows wear and stick marks up where a plate would have been. The "Olympic" squad or Russia II, coached by Viktor Tikhonov, played in these shirts at the 1992 Izvestia tournament with no name bars and won the gold at the event.
The jersey shows great game use with stick marks and scuff on the front body and both sleeves along with small unrepaired holes and a nice big repair patch. Tackla tagging and double material from the elbows down to the cuffs.
Obtained, along with 13 additional jerseys from this set, from the personal collection of a former Hockey Canada employee who was tasked with acting as the team liaison for all of the Soviet and Russian teams that traveled to Canada.
